Introduction:
Plans, analyses, directs, and coordinates tooling manufacturing processes related to program. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, staff allocation, and quality control standards.

The tooling engineer will be responsible to the Quality Manager for all aspects of the AAC Special Tooling Program D950-11059-1. The tooling engineer must be able to perform the following functions.
Create acceptance criteria used by operator and quality assurance.
Develop and use of scale factors to compensate measurements for coefficient of thermal expansion and to verify accuracy.
Using the LASER tracker system to establish, transform, and manipulate coordinate systems.
Estimate production cost and effect, for management review, action, and control. Formulate procedures and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, analyzing, and reporting quality and reliability data.
Establish data collection parameters and requirements.
Support logistics efforts by assisting in schedule of deliveries based on production forecasts, material substitutions, shortages, and facilities storage areas of material.
Establish special targeting and target adapter requirements.
Equipment handling, equipment setup, multi-stations setup, checks, and calibrations.
Data analysis, format, storage, and reporting.
Provides guidance to management on technical, systems, facilities, or process-related topics.
Develop and maintain daily use processes and procedurers for all ST's .
Knowledgeable of occupational hazards and safety precautions, and be able and willing to coach others in complying with program policies and procedures related to such. Follows all safety policies and procedures.
Ensure process specs, drawings and other technical documentation is current and updated.
Reports any and all potential safety hazards, incidents, accidents, and other program concerns to management.
Study task operations and task sequence, material flow, organization charts, and project information to determine most efficient worker functions and responsibilities.

Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical engineering.
Practical knowledge of AS9100C QMS- Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations.
Acceptable comprehension / communication (read & write) of English Language
Requires a minimum of 5 years aircraft engineering / managerial experience, or equivalent background
Ability to work any shift assigned, and work extra hours (overtime) with little notice.
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, and program procedures.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Training and experience in specific tooling processes and procedures (assembly jigs, forming tools, master tooling, etc.) blueprint reading, shop math (including trigonometry), shop skills (cutting, filing, sanding, grinding, drilling, tapping, doweling and bushing installation, etc.), machine shop experience (milling machines, lathes, N/C equipment, etc.) precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.), layout, conventional optical instruments (levels, transits, alignment scopes) and 3D Computer Assisted Measuring Systems (laser trackers, coordinate measuring machines, etc..)
Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, calculus, statistics, learning curve methodology, lean principles, and their applications. Applies statistical methods to estimate future potential manufacturing requirements and benefits.
Ability and willingness to increase individual knowledge and skills through program provided training.
Must have a continuous improvement mind set, a strong work ethic, support program initiatives, and believe in teamwork.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Saudi Security clearance
